Tooth filling on a two year old

Monday, Nov. 16th 2009 6:38 PM

I do not want to traumatize my two year old

I notice that my two year old has a stain on his tooth.  So I took him to the dentist to find out why. The dentist stated that the stain is the beginning of a cavity and it needs to be filled.  The only way he will do the filling on my son is if he is strapped down in the sit.  Otherwise he may move to much and cause him to hurt him with the drill.

I am sure this will scare him for life.  Now I know why so many people are afraid to go to the dentist.  This is only his baby tooth we are talking about.  Should I just let if fall out naturally, and not get the filling done?  Or should I go ahead and have the filling done even if it scares my son?
