Five year old son and dental care
Bad baby tooth
My son who is just turning five has a spot on his tooth. I made a dental appointment as soon as I saw this. His last dental appoint was a little over six months ago but his teeth were fine and he had no cavities at that time.
Today I notice a brown spot on one of his back teeth. I do not know how I missed it I am normally really good at seeing to his teeth care. What will the dentist do? He is not really good a the dentist office and I do not think getting a filling will be easy on him.
Do the dentist do filling on baby teeth? I do not think the tooth with the spot is due to fall out for a few years yet. How will the dentist fix it?

One do not blame yourself of not seeing a spot on your sons tooth. They can happen sometime really quickly and you are not a trained dentist. You are doing the right thing by taking your son to the dentist as soon as you did see the spot.
A spot may not mean a cavity so I would not worry about it until you know for sure what the problem is. If it is a cavity yes a dentist can do a filling and you would want to get if fix since it is a tooth he will still have for a few more years yet.

Well since you are going to take your son to see the dentist he/she will be able to advise you on want that spot is. If is is a cavity have it filled.
Even though it is a baby tooth he is not due to lose it for a few more year yet. I can understand your worries about having the filling and your son not being so good at the dental office, but the dentist knows how to work will young children or they would refer you out to a specialist.
Make it fun for your son to see the dentist. If your son sees that you are worried it will make him upset even more. Tell him that it is a good thing to go to the dentist and make a day out of it. I take my daughter out to the park or something after seeing the dentist. That way she has something to look forward to.
