The dentist did not do much but check out the tooth. If your son has more the one tooth, the dentist will count the ones coming in and look at them. From there you set up regular dental visits. What is important is getting your child use to going to the dentist. The sooner the better. If you wait until he is four to five years of age, he may then have untreated teeth issues that now have to be fixed. Making his first time dealing with a dentist an issue that may leave a bad feel for going to a dentist in the future. That is just my view point on the issue.
