Two year old son tooth extraction

Wednesday, Mar. 17th 2010 8:31 AM

My two year old just had to have two teeth removed due to carries.   Is other teeth are fine  and the dentist is keeping an eye on them.  The question I have is this, what can I do for the pain that he is now in.  It is not a lot but it does hurt him to eat even soft foods.  The dentist did not give him anything.  Should a baby aspirins be okay?   Also is there a way to make his gums heal faster?

Baby aspirins should be okay for the pain. You may want to try rinsing is mouth out with warm salt water. That is if you can make sure he spits it out and not swallows.

When my three year old had a few teeth pulled baby Tylenol worked fine for him. Do not try to put anything on the extraction site to heal it faster. The mouth normally heal pretty quick. Just keep his mouth clean
