Baby tooth, tooth decay, need some dental advise

Tuesday, Apr. 13th 2010 2:48 PM

My daughter has a baby tooth that is soon to come out.  The dentist says in about a year.  However, this tooth has some tooth decay and he is advising to have it filled.  I do not really have the extra money for the filling since I do not have any dental insurance to help me with the cost.

I asked him if she could just leave it alone since it is due to come out in a year.  Maybe just keep an eye on it so that if it does start to bother her before it comes out I could address it then.  The dentist said I could do that but made me feel really bad about not taking care of it now.

I do feel bad but at the same time I also see it as a waste of money to put into a tooth that is coming out in less then at year.  Am I so wrong about this?
