Cleaning Your Teeth – Good Dental Health Care for your family

May. 31st 2010

Cleaning the teeth of your children correctly is important for good health.  Cleaning your child’s teeth is a critical aspect of general hygiene and it also manifests itself in a lot of systemic problems if you do not do it effectively and properly.  Children teeth that are not properly maintained can lead to gum erosion and pockets of bacteria, eventually destroying teeth and even underlying bone.  Dental health also includes eating a healthy diet to avoid the buildup of acids and plaque that cause tooth decay.  Proper teeth care is important for both you and your children.  Make sure you see a dentist for your regular checks.  If you do not have a dentist or need dental Insurance come vitis us at http://www.dental4less.com

Is Nitrous Oxide safe to use on a eight year old?

May. 30th 2010

My daughter needs to have two teeth pulled.  They are baby teeth but in bad shape so we are pulling them and getting space maintainer until her adult teeth come out.  I will not have her put to sleep for dental work unless it is the only choice.  The dentist said he could either use nitrous oxide or only just numb up her mouth.

Baby Dental, What are some of the signs to TMJ ?

May. 29th 2010

I think that my son who is ten may have TMJ.  He tells me some times in the morning when he get up that his jaw hurt or feels like it is locking.  After a while he says it get better later on in the day.  So I am not sure if he has TMJ or maybe he is grinding his teeth at night.  What are some of the signs to TMJ that I could be looking for?  Can a dentist tell whether or not he has TMJ or grinding issues?

How often do you need to take your child to see the dentist?

May. 28th 2010

My son is one and I do not have dental insurance on him yet.   I am planing on taking him to see the dentist in the next few weeks.  I would like to know about how many times does a baby need to go to the dentist a year?  I see the dentist once a year for my dental check up and cleaning.  Would that be the same for my son?  Thanks

Dental Flouriosis, Can a dentist remove the stains by whitening treatments

May. 27th 2010

My sister’s son has dental flouriosis.  She would like like to do something to even out his teeth color and make his teeth look nicer.  They are healthy teeth other then having the flouriosis there is nothing wrong with them so she does not want to have veneers put on.  Can a dentist whiten his teeth out so that they look better?

Proper Dental Hygiene, Brushing and Flossing Your Teeth

May. 26th 2010

There is a right way to brush and floss your teeth.  Knowing how to brush and floss the right way is a big part of good oral health.  Use a soft toothbrush to scrub lightly with a dab of toothpaste, rinse it, and polish it dry with a soft towel.  Brush the outer tooth surfaces, the inner tooth surfaces, and the chewing surfaces of the teeth. The best way to brush your teeth is in little circles  go around and around until you have covered every surface of every tooth.  Brush your tongue to remove bacteria and freshen your breath.  Brushing and flossing precautions: Must be done thoroughly but not too vigorously, as rough movements can irritate or damage sensitive oral tissues.  Brushing your teeth with fluoride toothpaste is your best bet when it comes to keeping your teeth in tip-top shape. A worn toothbrush will not do a good job of cleaning your teeth.
