Baby dental care, Is buying dental insurance worth it?

Tuesday, Jun. 15th 2010 4:49 AM

I will be getting dental insurance with my job in another three months.  My son has a cavity in one of his baby molars.  The dentist said I should get this taken care of ASAP because it is rather big but he can still do only a filling on it.  Having the work done now without insurance is going to cost me $150.00 since my son is young and we are seeing a child dentist instead of just a general dentist.

I know going to a specislist is more expensive but before he was only getthing his teeth check and cleaned.  So should I buy dental insurance for just the three months that I need it for so my son can get the filling now.  Or just wait it out until I get the dental insurance offered though work?
