Baby root canal treatment

Thursday, Jun. 17th 2010 4:29 PM

My six year old has one bad tooth that needs to either be pulled or have a root canal.  It is one of his molars on the in the back  side of his mouth.  The dentist said that I could have a root canal done to save the tooth or pull it and get a spacer in to maintain the space for his adult tooth.

Cost is not the issue here since both are costly.  I am really not sure what would be the best way to go.  I hear root canal hurt and can go wrong were they have to be done again.  Also if I do a root canal I would need to have the tooth crowned.  So pulling seems easiest but I am not sure if that will hurt my son more then the root canal.  Advise would be nice
