Baby Dental, When should I take my son in to see a dentist.

My son is a little over one right now.  I have been brushing and cleaning his baby teeth since he first got one.  My dentist will not see children under three so I am not sure if I should just wait since my son does not have any problems with his teeth right now.  Or if I should seek out a dentist that will see my son teeth sooner.   When is a good time to take your child to see the dentist?
