Baby dental care, teething

Tuesday, Aug. 3rd 2010 9:01 AM

My son is teething and teething rings do not seem to help him much at all would like some advise on what else I could use.  Also when should I take my son in to see the dentist?  Do I wait until all his baby teeth come out?  thanks

Try baby Orajel to numb his gums. It worked well for my daughter but however not so much for my son. It can be a hit or miss. You can also try teething tablets. I get mine at Target.

I took my son to the dentist when he was two but my daughter when she was one. I think most dentist will say that you should take your child to see the dentist when they are one year old.

My daughter went to see dentist when she was fourteen months. They did not to do much but check her teeth that she had. But it is good idea so that your child becomes use to visiting the dentist.

If you have not all ready make sure you add your child to your dental plan. I see many people that forget to do this and then have to wait out another year for the open enrollment of their plan.

If you do not have dental insurance it is a good time to get some. Not only for you son but for your family dental needs.
