I at loss as to what to say. Yes it does sound like a lot of dental work. I am not sure if are upset by the amount of dental work needed or if you feel that you are being personally attacked by the amount of dental work needed for your son.

At least your husband sounded like he is taking the blame for it too. Your son may not be brushing as well as he should. You sound very busy so thing can slip by.

Talk to your husband and tell him it is not about how you feel more so that you want to just get a second opinion before so much dental work is started. Hopefully he will hear you out so that can be done.

Since this is your son first dental appointment it is hard to say if having all the dental work now seems like to much. I do not see the issue in getting a second opinion and if you want one then take the day off to get your son one.

It sounds like the only way you would be able to get a second opinion since your husband is find with what the current dentist is saying

Well it sounds as if you are taking it personally. Even if your son brushes his teeth he could still get dental carries.
On way would be if you are letting him sleep with a baby bottle full of anything other then water.

If you are not doing that it could be that he has week tooth enamel which make getting cavities easier. It is too late now but most dentist will suggest that you take your child to see the dentist when they are one year old.

Four is a little old so small cavities can go untreated and turn into larger one by the time he is four.

There is nothing wrong with getting a second opinion. And if you feel so strongly about this try and do so. It may be hard if as you said your husband as already made up his mind. But good luck to you
