Baby teeth care, How do you floss a two year old teeth.

Sunday, Dec. 5th 2010 9:56 AM

My dentist told me that I do need to start flossing my son teeth now.  He does not have any cavities which is good but he says it is time to make sure I am flossing.  How do I do that?  He does not sit still when I am brushing his teeth but I get though it.  I not sure how to make him stay still for flossing any tips or ideas?

Maybe brake the two up. Instead of flossing right after brushing just floss his teeth right before he goes to bed. Like anything else try and make it as fun as you can for him.

Show him out you floss by flossing your own teeth. A two year old will not be able to floss correctly but you can guild him by letting him hold the floss once in a while.

He should be able to start brushing on his own soon then once he has that down flossing is just a step away.

My daughter did not start flossing on her own until she was six. Each night before reading her a bed time story I would floss her teeth. It really does not take long to do and is much quicker and easier then brushing. You may find he does not mind as much as brushing since it is less fuss involde.

I got my son to floss my son teeth until he was five. It was not hard to get him to let me do it. I told him it was just another thing we have to do in order for him to have healthy teeth.

I explain the best I could to a child so he would understand that it was very important to make sure we keep his teeth clean so that he will not have bad teeth latter on in life.

I really do find if you just tell them the truth and that flossing as well as brushing is just a part of our lives then there is no reason to be fussing about it.
