Early Childhood Caries or more commonly know as Baby Bottle Tooth Decay affects children up to the age of three, or as long as a child remains using a bottle.  Here are some tips in order to prevent ECC

During naps times if your child wants a bottle offer a pacifier in stead.  If you are using a bottle during periods of sleep fill the bottle only with pure water.  Make sure to speek to your dentist for advise on how to expose your child to fluoride, if it is not available through your water supply.

Avoid Sugars and carbohydrates in a child’s diet.  Do not leave your child with a baby bottle that contains beverages such as infant formula, furit juice, soda or any  other liquid that contain or is sweetened with sugar. Make sure to clean your child teeth and gums after feeding.
