Although most people strive to take care of their teeth the fact is that no matter how often you brush and floss, regular dental cleaning are still required if you wish to maintain good oral and dental health.   It is advise that you  visit a dentist and receive a thorough cleaning at least twice a year.  Without professional cleanings, plaque and tartar can build up, possibly leading to cavities, gum disease, gingivitis, and other serious problems.
