Baby Dental on Bad Teeth Issues.

Question: I am 13 and have very bad teeth. Not cavity wise but just how they look and the fact that they are crowed and crooked. I really hate my teeth and I do not smile.  My mom is taking me to see a dentist next month but I worry that I will not get them fixed. I know my mom said she may not be able to afford braces but we would see.

Answer: I think it is important that you see what your dentist is going to say first. It sound like you may need braces. Yet that does not mean you can not have your teeth fixed.  Depending on if your mom has dental insurance for this type of service or whether or not she can afford it may be a factor.

If that is the case try being understanding to that issue. There are low cost options such as going to a dental clinic or a dental school, buying a low cost dental discount plan will also help save money on the cost of braces.   If cost is a factor try looking into some of these options In the mean time have good daily dental habits by brushing twice a day and flossing daily. You want to maintain healthy teeth.
