By the age of two and a half most children have cut all of their baby teeth. “Baby teeth are important because they hold space for permanent teeth. Also tooth decay in baby teeth can increases the risk of tooth decay in their permanent teeth.

Although most dentists now recommend that kids see a dentist for the first time by their first birthday or when they cut their first tooth. Having twice-yearly dental checkups and proper care at home are the keys to ensuring healthy teeth and gums throughout childhood.
