Newborn question, do you wake your baby to nurse.

Jan. 31st 2010

I will be having my son in a week or so.  My husband and I have been reading many books and took a few child classes.  Most of what I read and been told is that you need to nurse or feed your baby about every three hours.  Well okay but do you wake your baby up to feed or to you wait?  If you wait then it puts off the three hour mark.   Which is best to wait and feed your child when they wake up or to wake them up to feed?

My sixteen month old baby still sleeps with me.

Dec. 29th 2009

My daughter is going on seventeen months and still sleeps with me.  I have tried getting her into her own bed in her own room but she will have none of it.  It was easy to let her sleep with me when she was a new born since I did not want her to be upset and I am a signal mom.

Making baby sleep on their back

Dec. 20th 2009

My six and a half month old daughter is a tummy sleeper

I will put my daughter down on her back but once she falls asleep she rolls onto her tummy for the rest of the night.  I want her to stay sleeping on her back since I hear it is safer that way.  Is there anything that I can get or any tricks I can do to keep her on her back while she sleeps

Four months old daugher weird eyes

Dec. 17th 2009

Weird eyes when waking up

My daughter Stacy has weird eyes when she wakes up.  She some times will roll her eyes upward when I wake her up. She does not have any shaking or rigidness when she does that, but should her eyes be rolling like that even if it is not for very long.

Three months old son not sleeping

Dec. 9th 2009

Need help please:

My son does not sleep at night but for two or three hours if I am lucky.  He get small naps during the day, so my doctors said he is okay not not to worry. That is great for him to say but he is not the one staying up all hours of the night because his son does not sleep. I am getting run down and tired.  There are nights that I just cry because I am so tired because my son is waking me up at all hours of the night.  I am a signal mom with very little help if any.  So  any  advise would  be helpful.
