Three cavities on my three year old

Wednesday, May. 5th 2010 10:47 AM

I just got back from the dentist that told me my three year old daughter has three small cavities that should be fixed.  That they are on her back molars which are not teeth that are soon to come out.  I told my husband about this but he does not see the point in fixing baby teeth.  He says it is just a waste of money and that she would be find until they come out on their own.

I do not agree. I do not want the cavities to get larger and effect her other teeth and even her adult teeth.  I told him this but he says the dentist is only trying to scare me into having the work done.  That is how the dentist makes their money.  I am sad to say my husband is acting like we do not have the money to fix our daughter teeth when that is not the case.  We have good dental insurance so our cost is only $ 78.00 for all three teeth.

He says it is not the money but does not believe the dentist about fixing baby teeth.  He really thinks it is a scam on the dentist part.  He said fixing baby teeth are pointless since they are not permanent.  Can  someone give me good advise on how to prove to him the importance of fixing baby teeth.
