At what age should a child start flossing their own teeth?

Friday, Dec. 23rd 2011 9:16 AM

My three year old is brushing his teeth on his own but still does not floss.  I think this is okay that he is too young to really know how to floss yet so I floss them at night before he goes to bed.  However a few people are telling me he should be able to floss on his own and that I am babying him too much.  So I would like to know just at what age a child should be able to floss on their own?
