Sunday, Nov. 13th 2016 7:19 AM

Cancers of the mouth, head and neck are often diagnosed during late stages. (Approximately 40 percent of people diagnosed with oral, head and neck cancer die within five years.) Often times, these types of cancer are only discovered because they have metastasized in other areas of the body, such as the lymph nodes.

However, the survival rate jumps to 90 percent when diagnosis of these diseases is made during the early stages.  As stated in a prior post a simple oral screening session with your dentist could double your chances of surviving oral cancer? Make sure you schedule an oral cancer screening with your dentist who is specially trained to detect signs of oral cancer
