How do you get your child to use a children toothbrush

Learning how to brush your teeth

How do you start getting your child to brush their teeth.  My son is almost three and I am still brushing his teeth, because he will not do it on his own.  When he does try he just chews on the tooth brush he does not really brush his teeth.

Is he still to young to brush his own teeth?  Should I wait until he is older to get him to brush his teeth right?  Or is there a trick I can use to get him to brush is teeth correctly?

Kids like to copy their parents. Show him how to brush is teeth by brushing yours with him. You may have to do this a few times before he get it down. Try and make it fun to brush his teeth. Do you best to take your time with him. Do not start brushing his teeth for him or he will not learn nor want to learn if he can have you do it in stead.

My son was a like like how yours is. He too would not brush is teeth. Well until I told him about tooth worms. Yes I told him he had to learn how to brush is teeth really good or he will get tooth worms. I stated how tooth worms eat away at his teeth and make holes in them. That he would not want that to happen because then he would be in a lot of pain.

Okay it seems mean but it worked. What I would do is brush my teeth with him and ask him if he think I brush good enough to stop the worms. He would look at my teeth and go no we should brush just a little more. I made it fun for him and we would laugh about it.
