Washington DC baby dental care, baby toothache

Tuesday, Jan. 4th 2011 8:16 AM

My four year old son seems to have a dental toothache in one of  his back molars.  My wife is out of town and I really would not want to bother her while she is away.  I called the dentist but he can not see my son until two days from now.

Is there anything for my son toothache.  He is not in a great deal of pain but it seems to come and go.  Or should I take him to a different dentist that can get him in sooner.

If your son is in a lot of pain you may want to take him to a different dentist. Or at least call your dentist back up and tell them that you want your son to come in sooner since he is in pain.

Having to wait two days with a bad toothache is terrible. Also you may want to just call your wife and let her know what is going on that would not be bugging her. At least I would not think so.

If you have dental insurance you may want to call the company up and see if you can go to a different dental office. Something to make sure of anyway.

I would take my son to see a dentist as soon as possible. It seems odd that your dental office will not see your son sooner knowing he has a toothache. I would call them back and make sure. Otherwise I would thing about swiching dental offices and not just for this one time.

If your dental office can not help you not why keep going to them. There are cases where you need to see a dentist within the same day and if they are too busy for you then go to someone that is not. Just my opinion on that.

I would call that dental office back up and tell them you want to take your son in now not latter. What is that all about. I never been to a dental office that will not take one of my kids in on the same day if they are in any type of pain.

However if you choose to try and wait out the two days then you may want to seen if orajel will help your son numb the toothache pain.

Have him eat soft foods so that you do not run the risk of more damage to the tooth that is hurting him. Also make sure he washes out his mouth with warm salt watter to try and kill any germs.
