Baby Dental What Should I Use to Clean My Baby’s Teeth?

Sunday, Oct. 25th 2015 6:52 AM

Question: My son is 18 months I been just wiping his mouth and teeth clean but can I start using a tooth brush and paste?

Answer: A toothbrush will remove plaque bacteria that can lead to decay. Any soft-bristled toothbrush with a small head, preferably one designed specifically for infants, should be used at least once a day at bedtime. As far as toothpaste you should only start to use toothpaste when your son know how to spit. If you feel the need to use toothpaste use just a smear.  I suggest that you talking to your child dentist.  The dentist can advise if you should start using toothpaste and how to brush your child teeth correctly
