Healthy Teeth Tips For Any Age

Wednesday, Sep. 21st 2016 6:01 AM

Most people want to have pretty yet healthy teeth. Here are a few tips that will help you achieve that goal.

* Make sure to brush your teeth at least twice a day, but it dose not stop there make sure you are brushing all your teeth for at least two minutes.  Did you know that less then half the people in the US brush their teeth for the full two minutes?

* Make flossing a daily habit. Remember to floss daily, by flossing it help to remove particles between your teeth and gums.

* Visit your dentist at least yearly. Preferably twice a year is recommended but go at least as often as advised by your dentist. Some people with gum disease issue have to see their dentist four times a year.

* Replace your toothbrush. You should replace your toothbrush every three months to prevent against worn bristles. Also replace your toothbrush after having the flu or any other viral infections

* Avoid too many sugary sweets, as well as sticky food that can damage your teeth.  Too much sugary treats is not so good for your overall health.  When it comes to your teeth it is only really bad if you are not brushing your teeth after having such a snack, since it not the sugar but how long the sugar stays on your teeth.  Sticky food are pretty self explanatory, sticky food can stick to your teeth surface as well as get suck in between your teeth. If you are eating something sticky make sure to floss and brush well afterwards.

* Drink heavily acidic beverages such as colas, tea coffee and even fruit juices in moderation as they wear teeth down.

* Ensure your diet has enough calcium as calcium helps teeth and bones to grow strong.
