$1500 max for dental work is that alot?

Wednesday, Feb. 3rd 2010 3:25 PM

I have been looking into dental insurance plans for me and my four year old son.  I have to get it myself since my job does not offer dental.   So I not sure if a $1500.00 max limitation is a lot or not.  How much work can you get done for $1500.00.  Oh that is per person.   So I guess it is more like $3000.00 a year for the both of us.    Is that normally enough for a family a year?

Well that would really depend on your dental needs. If all you are really doing is the two cleans and checks a year and a filling once in a while the 1500.00 should be fine. However if you larger dental need like root canal crowns etc then 1500.00 may not be enough. In that case you may want to look for a plan with a higher max per year.
