Pediatric, Crowns for four year old
Can I have white crown for a four year old?
Okay so my son need two crowns for two of his back teeth. The dentist I am going to says that he would only do silver metal type of crow for baby teeth. Since it is not in the back it is not big deal. I would however perfer that my son has white crowns. I do not care that they would cost more. He is going to be having his baby teeth for at least seven to eight more years and I do not want him to have metal.
When I told my dentist about this he was acting as if I am wasting my money and that metal crowns would be the only choice I really have. Is that true? We go to a family dentist. Could I get the crowns I want at a pediatric dentist?

Then go to a dentist that does not give you an attitude. It should not matter if you go to a family dentist or a pediatric dentist for a white crown. It only matter that the family dentist works well with children and does the services you want.

Well I would not think it should be a problem that you want porcine white crown instead of the silver metal crowns for your son. I mean it is your money. It is odd that a dentist would not want to do what is more expensive anyway.
Try to find out the full reason why he wants to use the silver metal crowns. If it is only about cost make it clear that is not an issue for you.
