Baby Dental, Baby Dental Care

Question: I am a new mother, and my son is only five months old so no teeth yet.  However, besides cleaning their teeth, what are some good tips on how to take care of your baby’s teeth.  How do you get a baby used to you brushing their teeth?  What do you use to brush their teeth with?  I mean do you start off with a baby toothbrush and toothpaste or do you work your way up to that point?

Answer: before your baby has their teeth you can wipe their mouth after nursing with a soft damp cloth. There are baby finger toothbrushes you can use but you do not need to use toothpaste until your child is old enough to spit. I also suggest talking to your family dentist as he or she can go over baby dental care with you and show you what to do.
