Dental Insurance for Children, Looking for a PPO dental insurance plan

I have two children that need to have dental insuracne.   I need a plan where their mother can take them to her dentist.  I am told by her that I need to get a PPO plan since that is all the dental office will accept.

My question is can I have just the two kids on the plan?  Or do I get a family plan and list my X.  If so and I have to get a family plan anyway since I too do not have insurance can I list myself on the plan eventhough we are no longer married?  Advise please.
