Teething baby blues in New Jersey

Dec. 30th 2010

My daughter is just now starting to teeth and if the signs are there it looks like this is going to be a long few months to get though.   She just so unhappy.  She not sleeping and she is fussy all day long.  She is eight months old so she is on the latter side for just now teething.

Teething rings only help a little and her doctor say this is normal and it is just something to get though the best you can.  Any advise would be welcome.

Dental care for baby teeth problems.

Nov. 7th 2010

My friend child has brownish yellowish stains on his teeth.  He is seven and he alway put up a fuss about brushing his teeth.  My friend asked me about my son and how he brushes without even being told.

I just told her that is just the way he is.  That I ma sure I am not doing anything different then she does.  She wants to get him to brush better and she is taking him to the dentist yet again for his teeth but does anyone have advise I can pass on to her?

Dental teeth care, Baby tooth split in half

Oct. 21st 2010

One of my son baby tooth was ready to come out.  His adult tooth was coming in and so since the baby tooth was getting lose we told him to leave it alone until it falls out on it own.  Which he did. However, he was eating some popcorn I gave him when the baby tooth cracked and broke in half.

Now he only has half the baby tooth still in his mouth.  I not sure at this point should I have his father pull it out or take him to the dentist.  I never had this happen before.

Does this mean I will need to get him braces?  Or will is adult teeth be fine?   I do not have dental insurance yet but have been shopping on line and will be getting one as soon as I have the extra money.   Advise may I worrying to much about this ?

Baby Dental Insurance, My son needs dental spacers

Jun. 26th 2010

My son needs to have dental spacers.  My son baby teeth came out too soon.  I was told by the dentist he needs to have dental spacer put in so that his adult teeth will come in correctly.  My problem is two folds.

One:  My son pulled out three of his teeth.  They were only a little loose but he played with them so much until he pulled them out.  This is very upsetting to me and I hope that my son understands what he did was wrong.  The dentist tells me this happens all the time to try not to be too upset over it but I can not help to wonder why and heck would he do something like that.

Two:  If I get spacers can he pull them out?  Who knows what he will do next and if they are expensive I do not want to keep paying to have them put back in all the time.  Any one have any information on how spacers work ?

Baby Dental, Help my son broke is tooth

Jun. 24th 2010

Baby dental can you please advise me on what will happen to my son broken tooth.  My son just broke his front tooth almost in have going across.   He got smacked in the face by a soft ball.  Some kids were messing around not paying attention to what was going on.  He is six so it is one of his baby teeth.

I saved  the broken part of his tooth.  It took me a while to find it but I was hoping the dentist can fix it some how.   I washed it off really good.  My dental office is closed but I will call first thing in the morning to get him in.   Can the dentist glue on the broken part of his tooth that I saved.  Or will my son loss his tooth?

Baby Dental Caries, My daughter has dental caries

Jun. 21st 2010

My five year old daughter has dental caries.  She currently need four filling an a possible baby root canal.  I have dental insurance but it does not cover much and I have already maxed out it 1000.00 yearly limit.  I found this is easy to do when your child’s teeth keep getting cavities.

I take good are of her teeth by making her brushing and flossing after every meal.  The dentist says she just has week baby teeth.  With all the dental work she currently need can I get another dental plan just for her to help me with the extensive on going dental work?

Dental, Orthodontic question about Baby teeth.

Jun. 11th 2010

My Daughter may need some serious dental work

I took my sixteen year old daughter to her dentist.  She has still two baby teeth which are her two top eye teeth.   The dentist took X-rays to see if she show any signs of having her permanent teeth yet.   He said there seems to be there but that they are up high.

He is saying that she would need to have both baby teeth pulled and in order to make room for the permanent teeth to come out straight and she would also need to have braces.  Not only that but they may need to pull the adult teeth out slowly with a wire in order to pull it into place.  I do not understand how they go about doing that.   I really do not get all of what he was saying but I think that was what he was telling me I needed to have done for my daughter.

Her baby teeth seem fine right now and I know she should have lost them by now but if her adult teeth are not ready to come out on their own do we really need to do so much dental work?  This seems extensive to me.   I am calling my dental insurance plan to make sure all this would be covered before making a decision but would like to know if anyone else seems to think this is too much and the dentist is just padding up the bill.

Is getting dental sealant a complicated procedure?

Jun. 6th 2010

My daughter has bad tooth enamel on her baby teeth.  So far she only had one cavity but the dentist said she should get dental sealants to help protect her teeth from tooth decay.  I think this is a good idea but is it a complicated procedure?  Does it hurt to have dental sealants put on her teeth?  I would like to know what to expect.  Since I am thinking on taking her back to the dentist to have sealants done.

Dental Flouriosis, Can a dentist remove the stains by whitening treatments

May. 27th 2010

My sister’s son has dental flouriosis.  She would like like to do something to even out his teeth color and make his teeth look nicer.  They are healthy teeth other then having the flouriosis there is nothing wrong with them so she does not want to have veneers put on.  Can a dentist whiten his teeth out so that they look better?
