Buying dental insurance for you and or your family is a crucial way to help maintain your family’s oral health care. – BabyDental.com

Tuesday, Jan. 23rd 2024 12:55 PM

We offer many good dental insurance plan options, Delta Dental being one such option. Delta Dental is a top-rated plan in California since it has a sizeable dental provider database. Therefore, the chances are that your dentist is a provider of Delta Dental PPO plans. However, even if your dentist’s office is not a provider of Delta Dental PPO plans since it is a PPO plan, you can still go to the dentist that is not a participating provider.

Depending on the state you live in we also offer a Delta Dental HMO plan for people looking for a lower-cost or more affordable plan than PPO. However, with HMO, you have to choose a plan provider dentist. There are no outside dental provider benefits.

Take the time to review our dental insurance options. Just enter your zip code in the quote box provided.  If you have any questions about the available dental insurance plan, please call our member service line at 310-534-3444, as we are happy to help you find the best dental insurance plan that fits your dental needs.

Baby Dental California Dental Insurance: Which plan is better, a PPO or an HMO?

Friday, Jan. 19th 2024 9:58 AM

Question: Which plan is better, a PPO or an HMO?

Answer: Knowing your dental care needs would make it easier to say which plan type is the best because they service different needs as just one example. If you want to choose your dentist, a PPO plan better fits that need. An HMO plan may work better if you have current basic or major dental care that needs to be addressed.

Knowing the pros and cons of each type of plan may help you choose a plan type.

Pros and Cons of a PPO Dental Insurance Plan

Pros of a PPO dental insurance plan:

  • You have the flexibility to choose your own dentist.
  •  You are not required to select a primary care dentist.
  •  You do not need a referral to see a specialist.
  •  You typically have a higher annual maximum benefit amount.

Cons of a PPO dental insurance plan:

  •  The premiums are generally higher compared to an HMO plan.
  • You may have to pay higher out-of-pocket costs for services received from out-of-network providers.
  •  Some services may not be covered or may have limited coverage.
  •  You may have to pay a deductible before coverage kicks in.

Pros and Cons of a HMO Dental Insurance Plan

Pros of an HMO dental insurance plan:

  • The premiums are generally lower compared to a PPO plan.
  •  You typically have lower out-of-pocket costs for services received from in-network providers.
  •  Preventive care services are often covered at 100% with no out-of-pocket costs.
  •  There is no deductible to meet before coverage kicks in.

Cons of an HMO dental insurance plan:

  • You are required to choose a primary care dentist from a network of providers.
  •  You may need a referral from your primary care dentist to see a specialist.
  •  There is no coverage for services received from out-of-network providers.

Buying dental insurance for you and or your family is a crucial way to help maintain your family’s oral health care. We offer many good dental insurance plan options, Delta Dental being one such option. Delta Dental is a top-rated plan in California since it has a sizeable dental provider database. What is a Dental PPO Insurance Plan?

A dental PPO insurance plan allows you to go to any dentist you choose but generally provides better benefits if you go to a dentist within the plan’s network of providers. PPO stands for Preferred Provider Organization, and these plans typically have a network of dentists who have agreed to provide services at a reduced cost to plan members. However, if you go to a dentist outside of the network, you may still be covered, but typically at a higher cost.

Family Delta Dental California – Baby Dental

Monday, Jan. 15th 2024 10:58 AM

Question: I have a family of four and am looking for a good dental insurance plan since I am new to California. A friend has advised that Delta Dental was a good plan, but which Delta Dental plan is the best?

Answer: Delta Dental is an excellent dental insurance plan option. They do provide many plan choices. What would be best would depend on your own dental needs. Take the maximum limitation, for example—Delta Dental’s maximum limitation ranges from $1,000.00 to $3,000.00. So, if your dental care needs are preventive dental care, a $1,000.00 max limit would be acceptable. However, if you feel more significant dental care services are in your future, going to the $2,000.00 or $3,000.00 max limit may be a better option. Call our member services at 310-534-3444 if you have questions about our Delta Dental plans. We are always happy to assist you in finding the best plan that fits your dental care needs.

Why shop for Dental Insurance? – Baby Dental Insurance

Saturday, Jan. 13th 2024 10:42 AM

Dental insurance can help you save money on routine and unexpected dental procedures. Regular dental check-ups and cleanings can help prevent more severe and costly oral health issues. With dental insurance, you can know you’ll be covered if you need a filling, root canal, or other dental work. Additionally, many dental insurance plans may offer discounts on orthodontic treatments such as braces, which can be expensive without insurance coverage.

The average dental insurance premium in California for an individual is $35.00 per month. However, that average doesn’t consider HMO’s dental insurance plans ars a lower-cost option. If you are looking for a PPO dental insurance plan, it can be as high as $85.00 monthly. Not all dental insurance plans are the same. Dental insurance will vary depending on coverage and the type of plan you are looking for. That is why shopping out your dental insurance plan can help you save money or confirm that your current plan is still the best rate for your needs.

We offer over 40 different dental insurance plans and dental plan options. If you want a dental insurance plan in California, this is a great place to stop. Call our member service line at 310-534-3444, and we will review your options based on your dental care needs.

Dental Plan in California – Baby Dental

Thursday, Jan. 11th 2024 2:27 PM

Question: Is there a Delta Dental plan in California where I can choose my dentist? My dentist no longer accepts my dental insurance plan through work. However, it is important to me to stay with him. The office stated that they do take Delta Dental, but I want to make sure I get a plan where I will be able to stay with my dentist.

Answer: There are many different Delta Dental plans in California. However, most of them are either PPO plans that let you go outside their provider list (therefore allowing you to keep your dentist) or Indemnity dental insurance plans that do not have a list of providers, which means you pick your dentist to go to. If you avoid their HMO plan, staying with your provider would be fine.

Review our Delta dental options and our other PPO and Indemnity insurance plan options available to you in California on our website.  Please call our member service line for questions about our dental insurance plan options. We are always happy to assist you in finding the right plan for your dental needs.

How Dental Insurance Helps You Maintain Your Health – Baby Dental

Tuesday, Jan. 9th 2024 11:49 AM

Having health insurance is very important. However, many health insurance plans do not include dental care or have minimal benefits for dental care. Yet your oral health plays a significant role in your overall wellness. Having an individual dental insurance plan is equally important in maintaining your dental health and overall health and well-being.

An individual dental insurance plan is essential in maintaining your dental and overall health and well-being. Dental insurance helps cover the cost of routine check-ups, cleanings, and preventive care, which can help catch dental issues early on before they become more severe and expensive to treat. Additionally, dental insurance can help cover the cost of more extensive dental procedures like fillings, crowns, and root canals, helping to make dental care more affordable.

Take the time to review the dental insurance plans our website has to offer, and please call our member service line at 310-534-3444 if you should have any questions. We are happy to help.

Many Californians strive to stay fit and be healthy – Baby Dental.

Friday, Jan. 5th 2024 10:54 AM

However, dental care is left on the back burner for many people. Did you know that more and more studies prove that your mouth’s health can directly affect your overall wellness? That’s why it is important to have dental insurance. Dental insurance will help you keep your dental care costs low and much more affordable. Affordable dental care makes you more likely to visit your dentist regularly and maintain your dental care needs.

How does having dental insurance influence you to visit the dentist regularly?

Many people only visit the dentist occasionally due to the high cost of dental services. However, having dental insurance can significantly influence and encourage you to see your dentist regularly. With dental insurance, the cost of dental care is much more affordable and manageable, making it easier to budget and plan for regular check-ups and cleanings. As a result, you are more likely to maintain your dental care needs and prevent any potential dental issues from worsening. Additionally, regular dental check-ups can help identify early signs of dental problems and prevent them from becoming major issues, ultimately saving you money in the long run.

Baby Dental – Wisdom Teeth Extractions.

Wednesday, Jan. 3rd 2024 3:44 PM

After removing wisdom or other teeth, you want to ensure you take proper care of the area to heal quickly. Make sure you follow the dentist’s aftercare instructions. The dentist will go over how to take care of your extraction sites.

However, here are a few Don’t: Do not rinse the area for at least twenty-four hours after removing the tooth. Keep your fingers and tongue away from the extraction site. Touching is tempting but can not heal if you are poking at it. Try to avoid eating and drinking until all numbing has worn off. You do not want to bite your mouth or tongue. Do not drink through straws because you want to avoid sucking. If you are a smoker, no smoking for at least a day or two. Since smoking can interfere with the healing process, and the sucking motion could dislodge the blood clot at the extraction site needed for recovery.

Baby Dental – Improving Oral Healthcare of Elderly

Sunday, Dec. 31st 2023 3:28 PM

Due to increased dental and oral health care awareness, seniors are maintaining their teeth. The problem comes for the elderly, that can not easily receive dental care. There are many reasons elderly oral health care becomes harder to meet, such as no dental insurance, fixed income, and the inability to get to a dental office.

There are low-cost dental insurance plans that an individual can buy, which will help with the dental cost, hopefully fitting into tight budgets. Check if you have a local dentist to make house calls for check-ups. If the individual is in a retirement housing or nursing home, check to ensure they have on-site professional dental care. Seniors must maintain their oral health care since poor dental care can lead to stroke, arterial disease, and pneumonia
