Dental Help, How do you pull a loose baby tooth

My son has a loose baby tooth ready to come out.  I want to pull it since he keeps playing with it and will not leave it alone.  I do not want to hurt him much I figure it may hurt a little but how do you pull out a baby tooth without it hurting too much?
