Buying dental insurance then adding a child to the plan

Tuesday, Nov. 30th 2010 9:13 AM

Hello I hoping you can help address my question about buying dental insurance.  Right now I am a signal mom and I am five months pregnant.   Although I do get alone with the baby’s father I do not see us getting married.

He says he will help us and I believe he will.  However I need to get dental insurance.  My work does not offer that benefit but until now it was not an issue for me.    So anyway would I get dental insurance for just myself right now then add my child when he/she is born?  If so do I have to wait for a full year or can I add during the policy term?

What is a good age for a baby to be added to a dental insurance plan?  I want to get something in place now for me anyway.  I thank you for any help.
