Baby Dental, How Important is it to Take Care of Baby Teeth

Saturday, Dec. 9th 2017 6:21 AM

Question: If  baby teeth just come out anyway over time when your adult teeth come in, just how important is it to take care of them.  I not saying not to clean them but say you have a cavity in a baby tooth do you really need to pay money to fix it?  I will just come out anyway. So what is the point?

Reply: That is a view of thinking that too many parents to have.  However baby teeth are just important as adult teeth even though they are not permanent.  If you take it just on face value the question would be have you ever had a toothache.  Dental decay can and will call dental pain if not treated.  No parent wants their baby to be in pain when it can be prevented.

That said baby teeth also have many useful functions.  Baby teeth help your child eat and speak correctly they also are place holders for their adult teeth to come in correctly. Therefore it is important to have good dental habits and dental care even for baby teeth.
