Baby Dental Insurance Healthcare – Sleep with a Baby Bottle

Monday, Nov. 9th 2020 6:51 AM

My son will not fall asleep at night or during his naps with out having a baby bottle. I have tried using a pacifier but they do not work. He wants to fall asleep feeding. I tried to feed him before putting him down but he screams if I do not give him back the bottle. How do I ween him off of the bottle?

Reply: A baby sleeping with a bottle is not healthy for the child teeth. You need to brake him of that habit as soon as possible. If you have to then only put water in the bottle.

I would start just taking it away from him. Now I know that you may have some sleepless nights but there may be no easy way to ween him. You may want to try feeding him until he falls asleep. Then carefully not to wake him wipe his teeth with a dental wipe. So as he does not get bacteria build up from the formula.
