Parents and Kids are able to smile about free dental clinic
The ninth annual Alamance-Caswell Give Kids a Smile Event helps thousands of parents who kids do not receive dental care needed. Parents who can not afford dental insurance but also don’t qualify for government-assisted dental care find it hard to pay for regular dental checkups, let alone filling cavities or emergency work.
Eighty-nine children were examined by dentists and hygienists from 8 am to 1 pm that day. Where more than 100 volunteers from 23 dental practices and dental schools at Alamance Community College and UNC School of Dentistry worked the event.
