Spoiled baby what can I do

Tuesday, Nov. 17th 2009 9:32 PM

Is my baby spoiled?

I have to start with that I really dislike the term spoiled in relation to babies.  I have a wonderful seven month old daughter.  Maybe like all mothers I think my daughter is smart, adorable, and delightful these are words I would use to describe my daughter.  Spoiled is not one of those words.

The one problem  she has is that she will scream whenever I’m not looking at her.  Even if I just leave her side for just a moment.  I  know about  separation anxiety but I hate to see her cry.  So I spend every waking moment with her.  It is getting to the point that I can not even be doing something if I am not looking at her she will start in yelling and crying up a storm.

I get nothing done during the day.  I can only try to get work done when she is asleep.  Even my husband can not hold her without me being there or she will still cry.  My husband tells me that I need to just let her cry it out.  That I am spoiling her and causing a greater problem that we will have to just deal with anyway.

Even my own mom tells me the same thing.  When I asked the doctor  she says the same thing to me let her cry it out.  Over time she stop this behavior.   This just seem so mean to me she is just a little baby.  I need help. I do not want her to cry it out,  but know I can not continue we what I am currently doing or I will quickly burn out.
