Dental care is costing too much for my five year old son.

Sunday, Sep. 11th 2011 5:56 AM

My son is autistic and has always had issues with his teeth. From being hard to brush and floss his teeth because he fights with you over it to his grinding his teeth at night. So our dental bill is always costly but this time I not sure what to really believe. We went to a new dentist since the old one we had retired. The new dentist is stating that he has 6 cavities (his last appoint five months ago he had only one cavity that we needed to address)

This new dentist is also advising that we crown all of his back teeth since he grinds them. This would cost us $250.00 a crown. Cost aside this would also be a lot of dental that I am not sure my son can handle really well. We do not have dental insurance and we do not receive any dental benefits from my husband job. Should I get a second opinion? And is it too late to get dental insurance for my son dental work?
