Need Help in Ohio, I am Pregnant and can not afford dental care.

drugstore.com, inc.

I am 19 years old and my son is due in four months.  I was working but I had to stop do to my pregnancy.  I can go back to work afterwords but they do not offer dental care anyway.  The last time I went to the dentist was a little over a year ago and it cost me almost 200.00 for just a clean and check up.

So I could not at that time fix the two cavities since cost was a big factor for me.  Now I think those teeth are starting to bother me.  However my finance is not any better in fact with the baby on the way I really can not afford much.  What are some alternatives for me?  I tried to find a dentist that was willing to work a payment plan but they all said I was too much of a high risk.  I do not have the best credit.   Looking for help in Ohio =)

Try looking into any state run programs that you may be able to get into. Talk to your doctor to see if she can advise you. Also look into dental schools they sometimes will do the dental work needed at a low cost.

You are in a hard spot with being pregnant a dental school may not want to do dental work on you until after you have your child. If you think you can wait that long a school may be the cheapest choice.

Other wise look for a dental discount plan that can lower your dental cost hopefully enough to allow better afford the dental work needed.

See about looking for a dental click. Dental clicks are for low income families. Some of the dentist that work there give their time to help others in need of dental work. I too had a cavity when I was four months pregnant. I when to a dental click they were really nice to me and offer dental work at a much lower cost.

Also even though I did not have the best credit I was able to split the bill into three payments. Something to check out I wish you well.

I would try calling more dentist until one is willing to work things out with you. Check into any government assistant programs that may be available to you. Also check into any state run low income programs. Times are hard but you should be able to find some help that way
