Baby Dental Insurance Coverage.

At what age should a baby need to have dental insurance?  I really have no idea, and I want to make sure I have insurance before my baby will need it.  Also since I will be buying dental insurance for my baby how much coverage should I make sure to get?  Like would a preventive only plan be okay since I am sure a baby should not need more then just checks up and cleaning right?
