How long do you use a gum stimulators.

I have a baby tooth brush and a baby gum stimulator.

My son has four teeth now how long do I use the gum stimulator on his gums.  I am brushing is four teeth but when can I use toothpaste?   Should I still be using the gum stimulator tool if he is teething?
