Teething at Five Months – Baby Dental

Monday, Jul. 24th 2023 6:40 AM

My son got two bottom teeth on the same day.

My son is only five months old and just got in two bottom teeth on the same day. I did not think his teeth would come out that soon. He did not even really show any signs of teething. Does anyone else have a baby that started having their teeth come in at such a young age? I was so surprised to see them when. He did not even cry about them coming in. Or does that happen later?

Reply: The bottom incisors, the bottom front teeth, are usually the first to come through, usually at around five to seven months. So it is not odd that your son’s teeth cut through at five months of age. As far as him not having teething pain, that is good for him and you. He may have some teething pain as more teeth start to cut through. At this point, it is advised that a baby should see a dentist when they cut their first tooth or by the age of one. You should start thinking about taking him to his first dental appointment.
